I still can’t believe I get to say this. Mess of a Dreamer Photography was voted Best of NC 2026 for Maternity and Newborn Photography!

10 years of photographing tiny babies, growing bellies, exhausted new parents, excited siblings, and everything in between, this recognition means so much to me.

But what means even more is why I do this.

That’s why I’ve built my newborn sessions around three things that matter most to me.

Baby’s Safety Always Comes First

Every baby is different, and I never force a baby into a pose just because it would make a pretty picture. Instead, I follow your baby’s cues, work at their pace, and make adjustments based on what feels comfortable and safe for them.

After 10 years of working with newborns, one thing has become very clear: some of the most beautiful photographs happen when we stop trying to make everything perfect and simply let your baby be your baby.

You Can Come to Me, or I Can Bring the Studio to You

Getting yourself and a brand-new baby out of the house can feel like packing for a week-long vacation.

Diapers. Bottles. Pacifiers. Extra clothes. And somehow 47 other baby things you might need.

If staying home sounds easier, I’ll bring the newborn studio to you.

Professional lighting, wraps, backdrops, props, and everything else we need come right along with me, so we can create beautiful newborn portraits in the comfort of your home.

Prefer getting out of the house? You can choose a studio newborn session instead.
